I’ve been back to work for a week now and when I come home every night, I’m just amazed at how much Maddie has grown. I’m already feeling like I’m missing out on her life because I’m no longer home all the time, at least not as much as with Kaitlyn. I’m so glad that we had Kaitlyn when I was still in school. It wasn’t easy, but in retrospect, I believe it helped us bond like no other father-daughter can.

In order for me to have the same bond with Maddie, I know I will have to do things differently and work extra hard. That will be the challenge and I’m up for it.
