After the Christmas Brunch at church and our afternoon nap, we drove to San Francisco to visit Melanie’s grandma at the California Pacific Medical Center. Since kids aren’t allowed inside and it was almost impossible to find parking nearby, we dropped off Paul and Shirley and parked on Fillmore and Jackson. We took a stroll in that neighborhood and had froyo at Yoppi Yogurt while we waited. The atmosphere was definitely festive and wintery with all the lights and decorations, without the blistering wind and snow. It reminded us of certain parts of New York. I do miss the ability to just leave the house, walk or drive a couple of blocks, grab something to eat, and window shop for 30 minutes or so with the kids.
